About the Author

Brian McDonough has worked on a variety of film and TV projects for SHOWTIME, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, FUEL, LIFETIME, and DISCOVERY. He has served as an entertainment reporter and columnist for the Aspen Daily News and is currently finishing a book called The Powers of Story: Seven Steps to Creating Irresistible Stories. He gives a seminar across the country and enjoys teaching most of all.

After graduating from Michigan State University with dual degrees in English Literature and Communications, Mr. McDonough began his career in business. As a young man he quickly rose to become a boardroom consultant, traveling between Amsterdam and San Francisco to teach European executives how to levergage the Internet as a market for new business. In the process, he helped develop a Stanford University program that attracted the executives of Heineken, Publicis, ING, and Thomson Publishing.

After several years of working in the world of international business Mr. McDonough began to focus exclusively on more creative endeavors, which led him to a career in independent filmmaking and TV. His body of work now includes several titles that have gained national distribution including Trading Spouses (FOX) and SuperNanny (ABC).

Mr. McDonough is happily married and currently lives with his wife, Bree, in Hollywood, a few blocks walk from Grauman's Chinese and The Kodak Theatre.
